08 5.3! I need a parts list, please help.
I have a 2008 Silverado ext cab with the 5.3 in it. I am looking at different cams to install but im at a brick wall on deciding. I want a good lope but dont want to run a stall, also the truck has the D.O.D. or A.F.M on it. I need to know what parts to buy so when I tear the truck down I will have everything to go back together with. Looking for a good grind cam but realibilty? Can you have both? I want someone to be able to hear lope, thanks for any and all help.

try using the search button, there is a lot of info on this already. Be prepared to do lots of reading and get ready to pull the heads to do the job right, the DOD lifter's dont seem to hold up to aftermarket cams in the NNBS

there are a few options for you! I have got a ls2 valley cover and can probly come up with some 50k mile lifters from a ls2 but you don't wanna skimp on that stuff! So as far as cam goes with out a stall you are lookin at max wanting to run a 220/220 5xx/5xx 114 lsa or somthing close. A few guys on here have nnbs with cams but not sure on the dod or afm stuff! I say throw in a circle d or a yank and then go big nitrous cam though
also the other day you said supercharger! that cam will be totally different for a FI set up so i would reccomend getting in touch with stock4.8 and get him to reccomend a custom isky cam!

i ordered the parts last week to complete my set up
the valley cover with lifters and guides will cost around 260$ (dont buy used parts ,make sure u do it right from the first time)
and am going install texas speed 220/220 cam on 5.3 they told me its good for 390+ wheel hp for my setup .

Awesome! Let me know how you like the cam because I was looking at a TSP magic stick but was unsure of the cam size to run. I dont wanna have to order a stall because I still drive the truck on a 4 hour drive to work every month and a half. I need it to be practical but sound radical.......
