I would be surprised to see a 370 making 1000 hp. Not saying it wouldn't happen but you certainly would be better off to build a 408 or 427. I asked the guys at Texas speed and they told me a 408 and spray would be hard to make 1000 hp(my goal I set years ago was to make a 1000 hp some day no matter how) they said a 408 on boost should be possible. They recommended a 427 for me to chase my goal of 1000 hp.

Turbo will be your best bet regardless of ci.

It's been done by several people on here, you have to realize tsp would much rather sell you a 427 than a 370. And obviously you wouldn't have to push the 427 as hard, they won't tell you to push one of their 370's hard enough to make that kind of power.

What do you think it takes to push a 4850Lb 4x4 truck to 144mph?

I think the most anyone has with a 2300 maggie is around 750 on a 427, which is supersub

Not to start a flame war but the only Supercharger that I think can get you to 1000rwhp would be a Procharger. But the turbo route would be the easiest way, cubic displacement is not as big of a factor when dealing with boost as it is with N/A and nitrous set-ups. Some turbo guru's actually prefer smaller displacement, high boost and higher rpm's, a combo that more difficult and more expensive to obtain with bigger displacement engines.

I guess the pushing part is why TSP would say go 427. It may be a bit more reliable since you won't need to push quite as much boost through it. Hence the reason they recommended the larger cube motor.

I didn't realize a few people have hit such numbers. I would think money would be equal and probably less to build a 400+ CI motor to make 1000+ hp then to push a 370. That is a guess but I think when I make my 1000 hp attempt it would be with at least a 408.

Obviously it can be done with smaller cubes then I was under the impression of.

Well maybe my prediction of bigger cubes being less expensive might be wrong.
I would guess the down side is the small, hi rpm, high boost doesn't keep motors together very long?

Quick Reply: 1000 HP/Torque. What will it take.
