Sounds like you were starting to get the squeek I did with my LQ4, I just kept running it and it went away. It was rocker arms not getting enough oil so that rockers were squeeling on the valve stem. After a few minutes of idling it started to go away. Put about 1500 miles on it since with no problems.

hey matt, i see you used stock valve covers, did you remove the oil baffle plates on the underside? i had to remove all over them cause my rockers would hit.. just a thought didnt know if you removed any of them..

--- The GM Performance Parts Valve Covers are still on order they will be here next week I hope! That will make it look so much better!

Ya I removed that oil baffle and I ground down some aluminum parts inside the valve covers. Seems like they don't fit right, so I just set them ontop of the heads to keep oil from getting all over everything.

Nice job on the build...I have a similar setup i want to do on my 02 yukon...I want to swap out my 5.3 for a 6.0 off a wrecked 02 escalade.
but i want to use L92 heads, and want to know if i can use the stock L92 intake? MAF? Throttle Body?
Also...I think the heads im looking at have that VVT, how does that work and will i still be able to use the heads with the VVT and how?
