Update: First Test Drive!
I'll revive this from the dead....
Truck update!!! Took it on a short first test drive down to the gas station and it ran pretty dang strong for a base tune, never went more than 1/2 throttle and kept a close eye on the wideband just to make sure the mail order base tune it has was keeping it in a ok range. The stall converter is working great as well, lots of fun! This 6.0L swap setup is amazing!
I've got HP tuners and all but I can't for the life of me figure out how to dial in idle issues and things like that or log stuff right. So if anyone wants to give it a tune let me know!
More pics and videos later...

First off, "right click, save as"...two new pics for my "PT.net Truck Pix" folder
Thanks for the update Matthew, I was wondering how your ride was doing. The mill looks right at home in your engine bay, love those valve covers. Curious where you mounted the coils...I'm assuming that you ran the wires underneath the header primaries? Can't see them in the pic.

Haha sure did! It ran good, but I didn't really get into the throttle at all since I'm not sure how well its tuned right now. I'm going to do a first oil change right now, as it got pretty dirty quick. Guess that is to be expected with a used bottom end combined with the install of a new top end and cam. You'll have to come for a ride sometime!

Well I went out to the track yesterday and got some first new times for the new motor built in my 69.
The second run was the best at a 13.54 second 1/4 mile @ 100 mph. The tune is pretty rich so I think its got a bit more in it as well as headers and air intake upgrades.

I was pretty happy with the time but I think its still got more in it. :chevy:

Nice runs Matthew, good talking to you the other day. I think with a little track prep(there wasn't any that day), stickier tires, and a little tune-tweaking, that you'd be in the 12's for sure. The headwind didn't help any of us either that day.

Ya it was nice meeting you and talking to you too. I think your right for sure, there's definitely the potential for 12's with some tweaking.
