Your compression should be around 10.2:1 on a LQ9.

What are you doing for a water pump?

How are you relocating the idler pulley?

Measure your PTV clearance especially if you grind advance into the cam.

The engine will have the complete accessory drive setup off of an LS1 corvette, it's replacing the 5.3L that I have in my 69' which already has all the accessorys.
I'll be sure to check for PTV but I'm pretty sure it will clear just fine because I've seen the same cam used in an LS2 with L92 heads.

Is there any machining involved with installing those valves or is it as simple as lapping them in and going with it?

i would go with a 230/236 cam 614/607 112 +2 lsa, mill the heads .015 use a .040 head gasket you'll be at 11:1 cr that intake is gonna kill ya, get it ported for better flow.. you wont have any ptv issues with the cam you asked about nor the one i mentioned i run a 235/239 cam right now on a 624 lift

I'm not 100% sure but I think your right, just lap them in! I'll check with some local experts just to be 100% sure before I assemble them.

Ya I've heard that with that intake but it fit the budget (lol budget what's that?) so it will have to stay stock for the moment but in the future I was thinking I would bolt on an Fast intake or do like what you said and have it ported. Any dyno numbers with that cam in a setup like this?

I believe their has been multiple back to back tests with the LS3 intake ported and stock yielding no gain, but an actual loss with the ported LS3 intake. I'd either go FAST or keep the LS3 stock. The LS3 stocker does actually pretty good.

Thanks Skeet on the cam feedback on PTV. Figured he'd be fine, I was just throwing out a FYI as it can't hurt to check.
