Looks awesome Matthew...I'm usually a fan of the aluminum parts staying aluminum, or aluminum colored, but with that sharp Copperhead color, the oil pan, front, and rear covers might actually look good in black...maybe with black valve covers too. What about the heads, aluminum or Copperhead?

I posted this in your other thread on the SS site, but it may give others ideas as well.

1st off, she's looking good man. I've always liked that color and think it will look awesome color matched to your truck. For the oil pan and timing cover, as well as any other underhood items that you want to keep the look of raw cast aluminum, Aluma Blast Paint from the Eastwood company would probably work well for you. Besides imitating the look of raw cast aluminum, it is supposed to be good to 250 deg. F and is designed for underhood items. I've used a few Eastwood products in the past and have always had good luck with them.

Thanks! The black thought crossed my mind I think that would look awesome too, but I was thinking more down the aluminum look. The heads are new and look awesome with the factory cast aluminum. All the covers on the engine such as the oil pan, front cover, and valley cover I'll pull off and sandblast first then I'll either paint them with the Eastwood stuff as Bear suggested or maybe paint them with base/clear in a nice aluminum looking gray as that might give it more of a show finish?

Sounds good Matthew...As Jarrod (1Bear) mentioned, I've used different products from Eastwood in the past and always had good results. They can be a little expensive compared to others, but their products are definitely high quality. I'm not sure, but I'd *think* that clear paint on aluminum might start to turn yellowish over time, but that's just a hypothesis. I'd bet that the AlumaBlast would probably hold up better, but as I said, I'm just guessing

Well I just ordered up a new Comp Cam 223/231 .610/.617 112LSA so I hope it was a good choice, I also ordered Comp pushrods and new Fel-Pro gaskets and I'm looking around for a good deal on a nice timing set. This thing is starting to come together, just need to assemble it once the parts get in. I figured I can't go too wrong with that cam but there maybe others out there I can try out later if this isn't enough....

They look tasty! Moving right along! The front of the R/S head is so shiny that you can see the reflection of the Copperhead block on it
