Default 2007 Silverado 5.3 Cam Questions

I have a 2007 Silverado 5.3 (NEW BODY) and want to put a cam in it. I want something that is going to sound great when idling but is going to give me the best overall performance with the most HP gain. What type of cam should I look towards?? What specs?? Where should I buy the cam from?? Do I need to change valve springs or pushrods also?? Do I need the LS6 3bolt gear?? I am some what knowledgeable about this stuff, but need some help. THanks for any input. Justin.

ok lets start off , you will need , cam , upgraded springs, hardend pushrods , and the LS7 Cam Sprocket , youre gonna want to upgrade to long tube headers and get a custon tune , one of the best places to get a cam depends if u want to buy 1 new or used , if u want one new go to our sponsor texas speed performance >>>>>>>>>>>>>> to the right or if you want a good used one check the classifieds section on the forum , they uasually go for around $250 i just did a cam swap about 2 weeks ago , ...

your car should have active fuel management if its not a flex fuel

the parts are the same as above but to cancel the DOD and keep it safe from failures u will need

-LS7 lifters + 4 lifter guide tray
-LS2/LS7 valley cover

Do it right the first time

also dont forget you will need converter to have the best of your cam swap
