Default 230k Cam Swap

What's up fellas?

Had a knock sensor go out at 230k, so while I'm replacing that I figured I'll go ahead and swap in a cam for some more performance. Transmission will follow shortly after.

At 230k miles and for a cam swap, what all maintenance/insurance items would one suggest to change? Everything is bone stock at the moment.

Timing chain, oil pump, gaskets, lifters, water pump?

Throw in some motor mounts as well. They are probably sagging

Don’t look at the front cam bearing.

If the cam bearings don't come out attached to the cam itself don't even worry about them. They only made 230000 miles without causing any issues...

I did a cam swap in my 99 at 190k when I had a lifter go bad. New cam, timing chain, lifters, and valve springs was pretty much it. Cleaned everything really well and made sure the bearings looked good, which they did, and buttoned it back up. Ran strong until 250k or so when I traded it in on my new truck.

These things will run forever with good maintenance honestly. Cylinders still had factory cross hatching and other than being dirty and a little bit of carbon build up the heads looked fantastic as well.
