Default 243 heads

Ok, so I came across a set of 243 heads off a 2007 Silverado that was totalled only 900 miles on it. So I offered the guy $200 he came back to me with $350, I told him $200! The guy rubbed his head and spit out $250, immediately said SOLD!!!! I’m currently building an N/A LQ4 for my rcsb chevy and I’m wondering if I just get them port and polished, and use a stock 6.0L gasket will there be any clearance issues with the pistons?

thanks Callen

the 243 are very good flowing heads! and a good port and polish will only make them alot better and more power ! and you wont have any clearence issues and on a good cam it should run like a champ you will be very happy ! if you leave the heads the way they are you would still make a lot of power ! so its your call which ever route u chose you will get great resolts!

You could also look into milling them to bump up the comp. ratio. Good buy you got a deal on them.

well at 64cc they will put ur compression at 10.5:1 i could be wrong if i am anybody feel free to correct me ! which is perty good but you can mill them about .025 and it will put you at 61cc and it will be like 10.89:1 which is very safe for 91 octane , iam runninf 61cc on an lq4 an a 222/228 on a 3,2k circle d and i love it! just remember when your milling heads every (.006= 1cc) great cam for a 6.0 that 228r i wish i would gotten that 1 but iam not that far off!

Thanks a lot man, now I have another cam to choose from during the millennium that it's going to take for me to build my LQ9 I've been thinking of very similar specs, only on a 112 or 114, but I think that the 111 could be kinda interesting too.

Funny how the description says "Designed For 4.8 and 5.3 Engines With Stock Or Stock Type Intake Manifolds and Cathedral Port Heads."....seems like it would work well in a 6.0 too...

Good deal on the heads Kozzy, looking forward to your build
