I just got my CC and it looks nothing like the one pictured. Time to go magazine rack hunting.

I finally found an issue at Barnes and Noble, took long enough.
Good info. That 5.3 pushing 1K is what I'm talking about.

I've got 16,000 miles on my 383lsxt and i love mine but here's a couple pointers i learned
Run the Wiseco GFX pistons from tsp, run .0035 piston to wall clearance 3.9035 final bore size, use the gfx rings!
I run the Scat 4340 lightweight crank and Scat Pro Comp I-beam rods with ARP 2000 bolts, very light yet strong and affordable
get your main and rod clearance to .0025-.003
your new 383 can easily handle 230cc heads but don't! go for a nice 205-215cc head like afr or tfs trust me you will like it better by far and they will be make a lot more average power
i run a comp solid roller 235-240 at .050 but am switching to a 227-231 hydraulic setup 112-114lsa because after 15,000 miles a big dd cam just isn't that cool anymore lol
A Ported and Shimmed Truck oil pump will make 30psi hot idle oil pressure and 55-60psi at 6000rpm without issue
Oh and Bite the Bullet and just get the LSXRT intake with 90mm tb its worth 30hp and loses no torque over the 75mm truck intake
finally get a good tuner, tow it to the dyno and have them tune and dyno it and go have fun!

The TV3 is Good but i think an LSR cam would produce more power under the curve, something like 239-243 at .050 would make kick *** power on a 112ls 108ilc .624 lift
Run 11.3-11.5 MAX on 91-93 octane i'm running 9.3:1 DCR and well over 220psi cranking compression but i'm also running coatings and a 3400 stall
get your quench to .026-.030 area and you'll be fine, even a 239-243 cam will be easily drivable in your engine just make sure you degree it in
with the proper top end 475+rwhp is possible
