4.3 to 5.7 budget build
well a buddy of mine finally got tired of his 4.3 when he found an awesome deal on a half *** complete 5.3. the motor has been at my house for a couple weeks and finally got it tore down and to the machine shop. ill take pics as we build it up. its not too extreme just a couple things to freshen it up. no nitrous or FI. i know everyone goes 6.0 but, this will be a decent setup for sure.
06 scsb silvy
02 5.3 bored for stock 5.7 pistons.
balanced rotating assebly.
04 ecu with dbw and pedal and harnesses
ported 862 heads with dual springs
cam 228/228 .588 .588 on a 112.
ls2 timing chain set.
ls6 ported oil pump
lc-1 w/b
all new bearings and seals.
were at ? bucks right now for whats above. need to add it up
any suggestions let me know. besides tranny
oh if anyone wants to trade some returnless fuel rails for some return style let me know. we need returnless.

Sounds very very similar to my build, going from the 4.3L V6 to the 5.3-to-5.7L V8. Check around for the "Opinions wanted 5.7L" thread I've got going, otherwise so far it seems like a very logical build.
I assume with the dual springs that you're wanting to run a cam with really high lift? Depending on which cam exactly, you may want to look into a different intake. If the truck is going to be used as a truck by all means keep the truck intake, however if this is a street truck build, some of the car intakes might be worth looking into.
