Thanks for the info guys. It won't be going in my truck, it'll actually be in my 69' Tempest/GTO. The car has hotchkis springs, upper/lower rear contorl arms, trailing arm braces, BMR upper and lower front control arms, Hotchkis sway bars, 18x9 and 18x8 ADR M-Classic wheels (black spokes with high polish 3in rear lip, 2in front lip) with 285/35 tires out back and 235/40 up front. It's all torn apart right now, I'm getting ready to pull the body off to redo the frame and reinstall the new suspension pieces. Then getting the thing painted Cortez Silver with Black stripes. I had to order these wheels because I'm adding 13in vette brakes on the front and 12in LS1 brakes in the rear, so my factory 14's wouldn't cut it lol. The rod is longer in the 4.8's, so I don't think piston clearance would be an issue. How well do you think the factory rods would hold up? I know these nodular cranks are good for high HP combos, and the rods in these are supposedly the strongest small block rod ever (according to some magazine lol). These are the same PM material as LS1's correct? I'm either gonna throw a T56 behind it or a TKO600, leaning toward the TKO just because of the high torque rating lol. I'm leaving my 5.7 Vortec in the truck, still have the blower cam and everything in it, waiting to finish my tempest before I start adding to the truck again. As soon as I get the frame and everything done I plan on starting on the engine/drivetrain, so just need to decide on Iron 5.7, or short stroke combo. It'd probably get a nice set of ported 6.0 heads (maybe even nice 5.3's), Lingenfelter GT7 cam, SSI intake, aeromotive rails, with AFPR and A1000 pump, still searching out a turbo, looing around 15psi of boost. From talking with my buddies and doing some benchracing numbers it should put somewhere around 560+ RWHP depending on how much boost, on 15 it would probably be around 600.
