I have a 4.8l 2000 gmc sierra. I am also looking to do a swap. I know a little about engines and i have 2 friends that know a bit. I have a ceiling eyebolt that I hook up a chain hoist up to that could pull the engine out. If I get a complete motor, It should just bolt right up? I have a tuned PCM and my tranny has a shift kit and corvette servo, so its beefed up a bit. It was either a supercharger for the 4.8 or the 6.0 swap. The 6.0 swap seems like it would be much cheaper to do. Now to locate a LQ4 to pickup. on ebay there is a seller asking $2000 buy it now with 750 shipping to anywheres in the US. I live close enough to montreal that I could drive there within 4 hours, but he doesnt do pickups. I have the stock PCM for my truck that I could put back in the truck and send out my tuned one for a retune. Later.
