Default 4.8 cam swap

well i have a 2002 silverado 4.8 and a t/a and was wanting to put a cam and a few extra goodies on as well but my question is what are the pushrod lengths? and i was wanting to run a tsp 233/239 cam i think its a 603/599 lift or close to, and is that over kill for my 4.8

well crap want the most lift and power i can get but what cam would make the best bang for my buck?

Holy crap that's too big. Try to go for something around a 216/220. A cam like you picked would be great in a 4.8L to around 8000rpm or so.

A TR224 isn't too big for a 4.8. Of course neither is the hotcam with it's 228 exhaust duration, but the TR cams have way more of an agressive lobe. A TR224-114 is what I would do if I had to do it again. I think a 112 LSA is a bit much for a 4.8/auto.

From my little research on cams, I don't understand why people want these cams so big for a daily driver truck. I plan on doing a 210/218 in a 6 liter, but then again I rarely go over 3000 rpm.

I'd say tr224 at the max; even then it requires a lot of tuning to do. I'd go with something smaller than a 224 though really.
