400hp 5.3? Can it happen?
I have been about to drive myself crazy trying to figure all this out! Been planning a build on my 5.3 for a while now and have gotten nowhere. Thought about the 6.0 swap for a while, but decided on the 5.3 because I had it. Anybody got any ideas? Have a few of the boltons already but my problem is making my cam selection, got a set of 241's which I'm questioning if they will work. The low end is stock. Any recommendations on cam, intake, fueling would be appreciated.

A buddy of mine, made 38X to the ground in a fox body.
stock 5.3 lm7 bottom end w/ milled heads that were lightly touched up. A ls1 intake, and 239/242 CAM. That was through a 4l60E W/a 3800 stall and an 8.8
So thats pretty close

So what kind of internals are we looking at here? The truck needs some streetablity because it is my DD for now. Would like to see it pull its A** off in the mid range. I somewhat doubt it will see the track much. Have in mind a 3 to 3200 stall, built 60 3.90 to 4.10 diff with locker. Just don't know about the major stuff. Most of this stuff is still new to me!

well this is a forum, questions are welcome... . To the op my buddy just redyno tuned his truck on monday. we added a set of heads from wcch stage 1s also a tbss intake manifold he's running a patriot 226 cam. he made 387hp at 6500 rpm to the wheels, with a bit more compression I know he can be really really close to the 400hp mark. Numbers are just numbers though, the truck runs really strong and I'm sure he'll be really happy at the strip. Also to the op just do a little searching around on here and I'm sure most of your questions can be answered.
