400hp 5.3? Can it happen?

I would really like to do that, but it's just not in my budget right now. I have been trying to figure a pro-charger in the equasion but it don't seem to be working out. Have been trying to figure some growing room for down the road in the first build.

I thought i'd do a search of your threads and in the 4 months you have been a member, you have managed to start 82 threads.
Here are a few titles:
Shave 3rd brake light-yes or no.
Bedrug with no bed cover?
In the market for CAI-need suggestions
Need oil suggestions for my 350
driving 99-02 without main dash?
One you might need to visit again:
Apologizing for dickness
And my favorite:
question about ignoring/blocking people .....from doing searches on your threads!

Agreed. To get 400rwhp out of a 5.3 it would have to be so radical that it wouldn't be a reliable DD, but it would be fun!
My brother bought a D1SC kit off here for $1800. That's MUCH cheaper than what it would take to get to 400 NA. Keep your eye open and you'll find a deal on a FI set-up.

although i think its no doubt achievable with enough compression and everything else right in the combo. but the real question i want to know is, how reliable and DD'able is each when compared to the other.. as long as the n/a setup doesnt have a super high stall in it (which i understand it would need more than likely), id imagine it to be decent driving everyday. but then their are people all over driving trucks with 6-7psi from a radix everyday with no problems, so id imagine it to be nice also..

Yes, the stock bottom end will handle that fine. I would put in some ARP rod bolts if you have it out. Like others have said, your driveability is going to suffer pretty bad trying to get that kind of power from a n/a 5.3. Its gonna take a big cam and stall to get you close. If I were you I would start looking. for an LQ4. It would be cheaper in the long run, and are great for F/I if and when you decide to get serious. Built 60e, with 4.10s and a tru trac would take care of the drivetrain.
