400hp 5.3? Can it happen?

Not necessarily, ive been debating for awhile which way i want to go in the future (try for 400hp n/a, or just slap a blower on there and get 400+ easy) and what ive come up with or at least what i want to try to do, the n/a route would be a little cheaper but with less future power potential obviously, also 400 n/a hp isnt always guaranteed in the end.
although i think its no doubt achievable with enough compression and everything else right in the combo. but the real question i want to know is, how reliable and DD'able is each when compared to the other.. as long as the n/a setup doesnt have a super high stall in it (which i understand it would need more than likely), id imagine it to be decent driving everyday. but then their are people all over driving trucks with 6-7psi from a radix everyday with no problems, so id imagine it to be nice also..

OR, you can take a stock 5.3 with injectors, tune and your choice of FI and make well over 400 on the stock toque converter and drive it out of your neighborhood without cops eyeballing you for driving a dragster down the road.
this all coming from someone who haves 2 nitrous kits, a stand alone for race fuel and would rather play around with making power N/A on pump gas. i just dont see a 400 HP 5.3 that will have the driving characteristics that was noted above.

Please play nicely, I haven't given anyone a vacation yet and don't want you to be my first...you seem like a nice guy, just be civil behind the keyboard. We're all here to learn from each other and help each other. Read your sig and think about if there's any truth to it...thanks bud

high 230s cam, TFS 5.3 heads, fast 102, kooks 1 7/8s, compression at 11.0....this will get you over 400 hp but since its a smaller bore motor youll lack the torque. this setup should pull 7200 if done right

OK I think it's time I change my plan. What about 350 hp with lots of torque? Even thought about just putting a z06 cam in it. But I like the idea of lots of torque. The odds of me taking it to the track are slim to none. I just want something to play on the street with. What would be the most practical approach to a set-up with torque out the a**? I know the 6.0 would do it easily, but I have the 5.3. The extra expense of buying everything for a 6.0 will go along way to my wheels/tires and paint job. Any ideas?
