408 or bigger

408 or bigger
I was wanting to go with a 408 from a LQ9. It sounds as if its no problems with clearance or any other complications. Because of $$$ I was going to purchase the parts as $$$ will allow.
What would I need as far as parts(size and material)
What brands are better than others?
I was looking at cranks and noticed the Eagle cranks are fairly cheaper than the Lunati and others. Are they low quality or what.

For a "standard" 408, you need a crank with a 4 inch stroke. I'd look at Callies, Lunati over Eagle personally.
Pistons will be 4.030 (.030 overbore) and a host of options depending on what you intend to do with the motor -- coatings, dish for lowering compression, "turbo pistons", etc., etc. For that, I'd recommend talking to an engine builder or the piston manufacturer and getting their input. I like Diamond, but there are tons of quality piston makers around.
Rods will be 6.125" -- again I'd go callies, but there are tons of quality options out there. Choices will largely affect the cost -- H-beam, material, etc.
Rings -- again kind of a purpose choice -- running N20? turbo? etc. I went with diamond rings to make it all easy.
Those are the major components -- then you need a rebuild gasket kit and all the normal stuff. Since you'll have it all open, it might be time to consider a new oil pump (ported for volume), double roller timing chain, even a cam, heads, etc.
You can run around with stock LQ9 heads (especially if you are FI), but will get more benefit from the build up with a good set of heads as well.

As far as cranks go. Go with your budget. Eagle will work, but like TurboBeserker I would go with a callies or lunati over eagle
Rods should be 6.125" I think you mean.
