Depends on your tire size and intended use. You really need to post up more information, we can't read your mind.

its my weekend warrior .i want to be able to drive it to the track... right now it has 30 tall tires.. but 28 i think is what i m going to ... the lower end of the motor is very strong so i will be shooting a big shot of nos....

does that help?

4.10's or 4.30's would be ideal for a 28" tall slick. You'd be right at the 5500-6000 RPM mark when you cross the traps at 110mph.

ya i was thinking about some 4:11 .. i just called 4x4 land and expert offroad in topaka ks. today and man they want a arm and leg to put that bad boy togather.... i have a new limited-slip in box i just got.... all i need is some gears i think... and they want around $500 to $700 to do it all... is that inline for the is should be going for? and by chance is it something i can to my self to save some money?

d&g dyno in hennessey ok does it for $550 just gear and install, you can get a differential cheaper off ebay than his cost..thats were i used to work

what you get for $550 is Motive gears ratio of your choice, shim kit which comes with shims, bearings, bolts and seals, and labor to install

Here's some info on the truck.....

2004 1/2 ton, 2wd, reg cab, short bed, stock weighted truck
408 LQ9 with stock intake manifold and nice intake tube with K&N
baby crane cam 216/224
AFR 225cc with 62cc chambers
1.8 harland rockers
1-7/8" LT headers with TD's
4l60e with stock verter
3.42 gears
stock suspension

The truck is laying down at ~5600 range and you really know it when the truck hits 3rd gear. Is the intake, cam or combo of the both causing it to run out of breath?

get you some 4.10's a 3000rpm or higher stall and good cam and intake that thing will be a beast.
