Default 5.3 build 1st timer

Hello new here and this will be my first build and going in a 70 c10 2wd in bags.
i got a rolled over 06 tahoe with a 5.3
i just stripped it down to get the crank polished and new rings and bearings added.

In looking at the btr stage 4 cam (also looking for recommendations)

Currently has 862 heads but i found some 243 heads should i swap? And will the stock springs on the 243 heads work with that cam? And will i need to mill the heads?

This already has flat top pistons but was thinking about punching it out and putting ls1 pistons in it

also looking for tbss intake

Which timing set, oil pump, lifters would you run?

That looks like a 4.8L with the flat top pistons. A 5.3L would have a dish piston.

Pull the pan and the windage tray and look at the casting number on the crank.

12553482 is used exclusively on a 4.8L with a 3.268 stroke
12552216 is a 5.3L or other LS V8 with the 3.622 stroke

i believe 03, ill have to double check
if it will work
243, flat top pistons from the 4.8 and 5.3 crank/rod.
And it will basically be a l33.

Exactly why I asked!!! If an 03 it will be press pin though. you would have to locate some floating pin rods. the 4.8L are longer and will not work
