Default 5.3 build is a no go,sooooooo....

im gonna put a cam in the ole 4.8. The deal
on the "free" 5.3 one my customers was gonna
give me, was in a flooded out silvy, so I 86'd that
project. NOT worth it. Im doin one of the two here:

Comp xr265hr 212/218 522/529 114lsa
or
Lunati Voodoo 60510 212/218 531/531 113lsa

as i said before, not gonna do a converter right now. I think Im
gonna do the Voodoo, the 2 are pretty damn close, but i like
the 113lsa, and the extra wee bit of lift, anyone ran one of these??

Unless he is gouig to spin the motor to 7000rpms i wouldnt use the 224 in a 4.8, i would do 220 max with a good sized stall in the 3200-3600range

dont wanna run a stall right now, no need for the tr220 w/o stall, im already
lackin low end torque, tr220 w no stall would be a TURD till about 3200 on.

I like both cams that you listed, IMO I'd use a 3k verter wtih either of them in a 4.8, but you can get by with the factory verter. If the cams have similarly designed lobes, the Lunati cam will have slightly more overlap, and slightly higher peak tq and hp numbers, while the Comp cam will have a wider torque curve. The Lunati cam will have more lope due to more overlap also...the specs on both cams are so similar that I don't think that you'd notice much difference between the two though...

2k vette cam, good for stock converter, I picked up 3/10's in the 1/4 with it.

198 207 500 500 115.5 you can get them for 50bucks or close to it.

204/218 .550/.550 114lsa

should be pretty nice. i cant go to extreme b/c of my 100k warranty through my credit union, but what they dont know, wont hurt!!!!
