Default 5.3 head milling

I just wanted to know what some of you guys have milled your stock 5.3 heads too on a 5.3, and what compression ratio it neted you. .030" is the standard, and I have found some that have went out to .050". calculators give me different answers. looking to get to 10.5:1. I know 11:1 is doable, and have seen 228/230 cams with a .050 mill. just wanted to see what you guys have done. ptv clearance issues anyone?
thanks

I run a 228r with my 5.3 heads milled .030 I think it gives me 10.25 or something like that.

I had the same question, If i could get to 53cc with a .041 head gasket i think i'd be right around 10.7-75:1 But i Don't know what my factory piston dish is or how far they are in the hole from the factory, and then What kind of lift can i expect to use after milling? Hope i'm not hi jacking i was just curious my self, Thanks

I had a hard time finding exact answers to those same problems. I came up with a dish of -8cc on one calculator. and a compressions ratio and mill calculator came up with a .036 mill for 10.5-1, and .049 for 11-1. and -.008 out of the hole, but some say -.006. the only sure way to get it is to measure for yourself.

Factory head gaskets - YES.

With the 288r, .030, T56, 4.56 gears, LS6 intake, 28" DRs, half-assed speed density street tune (no dyno) I ran a crappy 2.02 60" and 13.46 @ 104.

wow our setups are way different. you got enough mph for 12.9's 60 ft is your killer. good times though. I am still not sure on how much to mill, looking at different cam choices and how much spray I want to run(just put the kit on).
