It hasn't been done yet. To my knowledge, the highest 5.3 N/A dyno numbers around are bluecajun5.3 with 340hp and 340 tq. His truck is a cam only bolt on truck, so he has some room to improve. I don't know if it would ever make it to 400 rwhp though.

I think its possible with 12:1, fly cut pistons, fast intake, 3500+ stall, light weight rotating assembly-valvetrain and a custom cam like around 236 with .620 lift on a 110 plus every bolt on you can come up with.
You can make just about anything drivable it would just have to idle at 1200 rpms.
Most people just go to a 6.0 because it doesnt require anything as radical.

12:1 compression would kinda kill the pump gas thing though

Mine, but not internal I have Forced Induction alot of work to get those numbers with internals.
I think it could be done when my truck ran those numbers with bolt-on's all I could think is I still have a stock 5.3l motor.
Did I mention I drive to work with it.
