Also a great way to go is ti retainers on the ls6's, works good with mild cams.

Why use expensive TI retainers on a "mild cam"?

the less weight the spring needs to move, the softer it can be. Using Ti retainers allows you to use a little more cam with a particular spring. This is the whole reason for the LS6 having sodium filled valves.
