my bro has a 05 chevy 5.3 FBO cammed (jerico cam from xessive) and since the cam is to big he wants yalls opinion if some 799 heads off the new body 5.3 with just a p&p job and maybe a mill will do the trick to wake up the truck and he also wants to install the TBSS intake. do yall think by doing this it would wake up the truck even more ?? also wat do yall think my compression ratio will be after i do this???if yall aint familiar with the jerico cam its a custom grind 228/232/.588/.595 112lsa

I hope he's on a stall! 4k sounds like what he needs to wake that truck up..

Would be some decent gains from a good set of ported 799 heads and milling. I would imagine 35+ HP would be a good estimate. With that cam, you can probably mill another .020-.025" pretty easy without having to worry about PTV.

If you don't mill, then that truck will run like crap. In stock form, those heads will lower compression ratio.

He should probably look into the PRC stage 2.5 5.3 heads.

mill them atleast .030 thats what i milled mine with no problems.. 5.3 ho l33 engine.. it came with 799s stock.
