Default 862 head on 6.0L

I want to go w/ a 6.0L w/ my heads, Does anyone know if a 5.3L 862 Head will properly install on a 6.0L, Iv heard conflicting storys about the head gasket sealing..?

they work. I never heard of head gasket problems maybe someone else has... I just used MLS head gaskets for the 6.0 from car-quest. when i had my 862's on an lq4

862's on a 6 liter are the modern day equivalent of putting 305 heads on a 350, they don't flow. A mullet is required inorder to do this properly...

These 862 heads on my 5.3 have been milled 0.30, machined & installed the larger LS1 valves, ported & polished, I think they should flow pretty well.

How about the combustion chambers, wouldn't you want to hog them out a little bit to match the 4.0 bore?

I wouldn't do it with stock heads, but a worked set is a different story. I am fixing to put a set of PRC's on my LQ9.
