I just saw in an advertisement in a mag that 918s were .600 also.

Maybe they say .600 because you need some spacer to absorb the spring harmonics when cycling. The coil bind they list is the distance from a fully relaxed spring, that is not installed on a valve already, to totally bound down compression. A lot has to do with the installed height in the head. Due to manufacturing tolerances, GM and Comp, there has to be a safety level somewhere.

The Comp 26918's will control harmonics BETTER the closer you run them to coil bind.
However........spring life is GREATLY reduced.
Therfore , I think Comp limits the lift to .600 w/a 1.800 install height for longevity reasons.
Here's some math for ya.
1.8-1.085=.715 Installed height - coil bind
.715-.060=.655 Max Lift- .060 cushion
So by the math.....a 918 will handle .655 lift......but it won't live long like that.

BTW....I did this math in my head.......so if I messed up.....sue me.
