about to do the cam swap... need to make sure??
the cam i have comes from a gto ls2, i understand all the ls fits, am i right that it will fit in my silverado 5.3 2005 tr224/224 112

Don't worry about the cam sensor. The stock LS2 cam comes without a cam reluctor on it because the sensor on the LS2 pick's up the signal from the cam timing gear. The aftermarket cams however all pretty much have the reluctor on them because this makes them work for both the Gen III and Gen IV engines. This means your TR224 should have the reluctor on the cam already and should just work fine. The stock cam however from an LS2 wouldn't have one and would only be usefull to someone with a Gen IV where they have the cam sensor on the camshaft gear only. The TR224 on a 112 is an agressive cam for a 5.3L. Make sure to get plenty of time to get it tuned in. With great tuning (and more stall speed) that cam will work well.

You shouldn't need to change anything to make it work. Just look at the cam, if it has the reluctor ground into the cam it's all you need and will be a direct replacement for your current cam. If you were to use a stock LS2 cam you'd have the problem they are referring to.
Look at this picture. If you have the reluctor between the last lobe on the cam and the cam bearing journal than you have a normal replacement cam that is designed to work on both the Gen III (normal LS1 style that would work in your 5.3L) and the Gen IV (like an LS2 car).
