Default Acetone in gas helps fuel milage

Ive read a bunch about adding acetone to gas increases fuel milage.... 3oz per every 10 gal.... People say could mess up rubber such as gaskets and hoses but im not believi it will in portions that small.... Any one experimented with it????

I've seen it used to clean old gas tanks to get rid of varnish, so it has a cleaning effect. However, the tanks are always rinsed with fresh gas before they're put back into service. Acetone will eat plastic and rubber if left for an extended period of time. I don't know what it would do for fuel economy.

Same here, when I remember. Can't say it has helped or hurt one way or the other.

No thank you. Gas lubricates everything till it gets to the combustion chamber, adding acetone might have a negative effet, not tomowrow but soon. Plus, gas is fairly cheap here so meh meh.

Unless I am going to yield another hundred miles to a tank or see some huge increase I don't see the risk for 1-2 more MPG
