Any tried and true methods for beefing up the 4.3?

Look man I don't have the money to go and buy a v8 truck nor could I sell what I have so I might as well tinker with what I have. An by the time I shoehorn a v8 into my s10 I might as well have built the v6. I just want to have a sweet truck thats decently quick that I can be proud of. Thats all. I'm not concerned with having a big bad v8 or anything like that.

All the go fast cars that I've seen with only six cylinders are actually h6's and not v6's. Trust me dude. You'd be better off asking Parrish about this kind of thing, because I think he was working on a 4.3 turbo job recently... We're all gonna tell you to get a v8
and FYI, your truck is nowhere close to being a light vehicle.
No disrespect meant, just trying to give you a straight answer.

A LOW DIME is running a 4.3 RCSB S10 with CAI,Spray, Tune, trans, 3.73's and has a personal best of 13.2. And IIRC that's with 100shot.
Financially it's just easier to do a v8. Parts are cheaper and the performance is way better. A cam'd 5.3 should be able to get low 13's on a bad day in an s10.
You can pickup a 5.3 for dirt cheap. If you insist on doing something with the 4.3 just start with the basics but If you don't have money for a cheap v8 then you don't have money to settle it at the track on a 4.3
a Turbo I5 would be something.

i remember seeing a stroker kit for the 4.3. it might've been 3.75", but i quit paying attention to it because that was shortly before i decided on the 5.3 swap. cams are few & far between, at least when i was looking & compared to the v8s.

All due respect sir I did no such thing as to ask for your opinion. My original question was as follows. Any tried and truth methods for beefing up the 4.3 v6? Unless my english is completely outdated and utterly useless I don't believe I ever asked or gave the option for an opinion of the motor. I was only asking if any of you knew of any good builds for the v6. Any other banter that came forth was from the deep abiding dislike of anything not a v8 that seems to be ever prevalent here.

Looks like you answered your own question
I'm sure you could make that thing run good, but in the long run we all think you would save money by at least swapping to a SBC v8. The swap would be easy since your S10 already has a SBC design v6 in it, and should run much better for a fraction of the cost, with many more options in your build.

well, before this gets ugly...
i'm willing to bet that the general intent of most of the posts made here are to inform you that, typically, with the money you spend hopping up a V6, you
and more power.
secondly, being a noob around here, getting smart with people when they offer somewhat practical suggestions ain't the best way to get a lot of help. best of luck to ya & welcome to pt.net
