Not trying to hijack the thread but keep the convo going…

this past January i finished up my 6.0/lsa build and I am overall very happy with it. Night/day coming from a heads/cam 5.3. That being said, because if money and time constraints i stuck with my heads off my 5.3 for this build. They are worked over heads by advanced induction on a 243 casting. So i had to use the adapters and what not. I am running a 2.45” pulley on my blower and am seeing about 12-13psi depending on atmospherics. I wanted to be around 10psi but i was recommended to go the 2.45” because of the specifics of the build to achieve the 10psi. Anyway, it has been on my mind lately to upgrade to a rec port head to ditch the adapters and maybe make a little more power. My truck put down 530hp/590trq(4wd with a little bigger bfg at’s and 4l80). What’s take on if there would be any worthwhile gain from moving the the rec port heads based off my build. Keeping in mind it would have to go back on the dyno, different pushrods, gaskets and all that would the price be worth the potential hp/trq increase? Honestly if it was only to add 30-40 hp then probably not interested because it would probably be $3-$4k in parts and dyno time.

I think your estimate on HP and dollars spent are pretty close, best case 50-60 HP but it's not like your 6.0L is demanding a lot more airflow like a bigger displacement would benefit from. It would probably drop your PSI and make more power, but yes at a pretty steep cost.

Thats kinda what im thinking. It being a street truck that I also tow with, it’s not like it’s an all out race rig or anything. I would probably be better of putting that money toward a tru trac i keep putting off.
