I actually spoke with them today about this cam... He recommended this cam over the stage 2 do too vehicle weight. They have a nice idle to them, And it's basically the same cam as LJMS stage 1 turbo cam. I believe these cams are specd for the 4.8, 5.3 motors. He has some shelf cams for the 6.0L motors as well. Either way I'm sure it'll be fine, and it sounds good! You can definitely tell that its a aftermarket cam by the sound.

whats the story with a cam like this compared to a triple 12? it seems like the way JFR does cams is way far off what so many others do. I havent really been able to find much explanation there, and its obvious the JFR stuff works.
my 4.8 has a tu0 (216/216) and it works great but it seems like everyones 'stage 1' stuff is up in the mid 220s these days.

Bigger cam isn't needed to make power, but I do recall reading Jarrett did cam testing in his truck. I'm running the triple 12 and wondering if there would be anything to gain with a bigger cam

I belive its because Jarret's **** hauls *** from real world experience!! Alot of shops sell what the public wants.. and ive always believed the LS platform is constantly "OVERCAMMED"... bigger is not always better in this area and people forget that we are racing TRUCKS.. 4k..5k..6k pound vehicles.

I'm gonna order one in the next few days.. It's either gonna be from Jarrett, BTR, or LJMS.... I also have the option of a cam my buddy had that's a
216/220 .568 .568 on a 114 I'm sure any of them would do just fine in my 5.3 at 15# or so.

The Howards cam I was gonna put in it was used, seller said 500 miles, I bought it and got it in the mail to find out there was numerous pinholes/pitting on every lobe of the cam! Luckily the seller refunded my money and I shipped it back! Some people.....

Yall are right about bigger isnt always better. Ive got a stock headed 5.3 with tsp 228r 112lsa with a yank tt3000 stall and it doesnt come alive until 3500rpm. Gonna try the btr stage 1 turbo cam for my 6.0 build. Im trying to keep some low/mid range power. Anybody got any links for idle clips of the btr stage 1? I cant find them anywhere
