Default April Car Craft - WCCH 5.3L

Just got the the april 08 CC mag and they get an extra 120+ ponies out of a stock 5.3 changing cam and heads only. Its nothing Richard hasn't already told us all about but add one of the now widely available rebuilt MP112HH's and ull have 400+rwhp on stock bottom end, for about $8g's! They use both WCCH ported stock heads and Richard's Edelbrock heads. Cam alone gets them almost 100hp on the dyno!

The cam they use pushes the motor up to 6800rpm, so if u intened to keep it ud better put a forged bottom end on. They suggest a 5-10* smaller on the intake side and sacrifice 10-15hp to keep the stock internals safe. R/

I would love to see 100hp from just a Cam swap on a stock motor since the GT2-3 only gets about 30-40hp tops.

They're only talking about an engine dyno tho...I'd say the heads & cam will get u 100rwhp and another 100rwhp from the blower and ur gonna be 400rwhp IMO. R/

im making right at 300rwhp now, so i hope that if i bolted on cam, heads, and FI that i'd be over the 500 mark. That makes more sense to me that just 400rwhp

RPM is free horsepower, and when you extend the RPM range HP is going to follow.

There is no way you are at 300rwhp with a bolt on/tune 4.8.
