Lingenfelter GT2-3 is a good one for the 4.8 i have it in my 5.3 i was very impressed you can get the cam and ls6 spring for under 450.00 ------Camshaft specifications: 207/220 573/.580 w 1.7 rocker 118.5 CL. Kit includes GM LS6 valve springs #12586484 which use the stock factory LS1 valve spring retainer. Camshafts ground by Competition Cams for Lingenfelter.

lets start with first question.
1. will you be doing the work or will you be paying someone to do the work.
the LS6 springs are good for a lift of .570 and can cover the lift of most of the cams available for our motors, any thing over .570 and you will need the comp 918.
often someone will put a cam up for sale in the classified section that you may be looking for.
a good start for a 4.8 would be
LS6 springs
GM camshaft 12560950 with a lift of 525 / 525 on a lsa of 116
a TB stall
cold air intake
shorty or long tube headers depends on emissions in your area
duel exhaust
and a custom tune on the pcm.
now if you go shopping in the right places you can pick up almost all of this stuff for about
a 1000.00 and you will notice a very nice gain in horse power and torque with a much better top end.

good headers would be a set of long tubes.
a K&N works great in a truck but I see you wrote that you have a car, it works in a car too.
check out the sponsors over to the right for a set of springs, now if they do not have
what your looking for the you could check out summit, e bay, or the classified section here on the board.
