You can make it a 5.7, not sure the exact overbore. It's been done many times, try searching with the hand search function above.

Lightbulb

A 5.7L bore is stock @ 3.898". A 5.3L bore is stock @ 3.780. It would require a .118" over bore to fit stock 5.7L pistons in a 5.3L block. It has been done many times, just need to have the block bores checked to ensure you won't end up going through, or having the cylinder walls end up to thin.

Exactly, a 4" stroke with a 3.905" bore (overbore LS1 pistons) equates to a roughly 383.25 cubic inch displacement engine.

A 4" stroke with a 3.898" bore (stock LS1 bore) equates to a roughly 381.87 cubic inch displacement engine.

If you are thinking about keeping the stock bore and going with a stroker crankshaft, you can do that too now courtesy of Wiseco! Just for reference a 4" stroke with a 3.780" bore equates to a roughly 359.10 cubic inch displacement engine. If you choose to go this route be sure and get "Good" cylinder head work done, as the bore limits the size of your valves in the head. That makes bowl / valve seat blending, throat blending, and valve job that much more important. This would be a strong tourquey bastard of an engine, a combination that I'm actually thinking about building for my truck!

If you go with a new crank why not go 4.125 and bore 3.905 = 395cid
I may change my build plans now that I think about it.
