Dont cut yourself short by buying cheap pistons on a motor you are planning on pushing alot of HP through. I would buy a good quality set of pistons, its something I would skimp on buy thats just me.

yea i hear ya, my crank/rods are top line might as well go with same quailty pistons. i know lunati offers boost pistons for their other 408 they sell. one with the -13cc i have and -38cc for the boosted motor. sucks cause that size dish and 67cc heads is 8.5.....i already have 317s. maybe i should of kept those 243s i had

My wisecos have 18 or 19 cc dishes and with 74cc heads that puts me at 9.3:1 with a .05 HG I believe(its either .05 or .054 cant remember). Wiseco can make you whatever dish you want, mine were totally custom pistons so if you went that route you could get the exact dish you need.

I honestly believe the custom prices have come down so far because the custom pistons are now in such high demand. Take a look at diamond's catalog these days -- kinda crazy what they stock.

Yeah, I totally agree with Cody -- get a big name, quality piston. There are a ton to choose from these days. Back when I got mine, there were far fewer choices for the gen IIIs.

BTW I just checked my pistons... $870. Maybe my memory is shot

so with rings and pistons what you think 1k for everything?.... for 9.1 cr it would take -22cc with a 72cc head if i did the math right....sound correct?

Yeah with MLS (or other) .052 compressed HG -- 9.14:1. A .054 hits 9.11:1
