Building a 408, need opinions on setup
#23
I don't think it is a question of the strenght of eagle products, I personally ran eagle h beam rods for about 30,000 high boost supercharged miles without any problems. I think the eagle products require more machine work to get them into specs. An eagle crank will hold up to whatever you throw at it, thier products just require a little more work by the machine shop to balance the rotating assembly.

Hey Derek, don't you run into issues when milling the 317's too much? I can't find the thread from what I'm referring to. Anyways, sounds like a good build and don't be afraid to use Eagle's products either.

that is EASILY the worst information ever posted on any internet forum EVER. Eagle has powered some of the quickest/fastest LSX cars to EVER be assembled. Fereday was the first LSX in the 7s and was running a 3 year old Eagle internal'd motor. Eagle is good ****, its more about choosing a builder that's worth a **** and can build what you need.

You can easily mill them 30 thousandths without running into any issues.
around .007 milled = 1cc
One cc should change your compression ratio around .9 of a point in compression.
