Default Building a 6.0 have some questions

I am building a 6.0 to put in my truck to replace the 6.0 that is in it. I am just thinking a cam a little bigger than what is in there now, heads, full tube headers, and some better injectors. Anyway, the motor I have has a good crank, and rods. I need some pistons but everything I seem to find is crazy money for what I am wanting to use it for. All the pistons I seem to find are forged and I don't think NA I really need that. I just want the compression to be in the 10.5 range and the cam in the low to mid 220s intake and exhaust with like a 112 LSA. I was thinking about taking the stock 317s and having them worked. Anyway I have no plans of spraying it or boosting it and just want lots of torque down low and mid range. What would be a good budget minded piston? Before I spend 500-600 for just a set of pistons I would spend some more on a stroker set up and sell the crank and rods I have. Thanks for the help.

Don't know if this helps or not, but my builder used Sealed Power hypereutectic pistons in my 370. Compression is 9.6:1.

I saw them and they are from like Advance or something but they are like 577 plus tax. Before I spent that on them I would get some forged

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GM-LS...Q5fAccessories could I use these in an LQ4 with 317 casting heads? I just thought they would be along the lines of what I want and I could take my 317 heads and have them milled to get the CR up. Just a thought, if they will work I will go ahead and get them. Thanks

When I used to build SBC's like they were going out of style I would use forged on anything over 9.5 to one just becouse at that compression your going to get on it. Also in a HD application if it is going into your 1500HD I would go with forged as they can take heat cycle's much better.

they will be alright for what you and you can use them with the 317's they are the same pistons and rods that are in all 2005 and up lq4's and same rods as lq9's those are the updated rods.

I need to find out if I can get by with only honing the block or if it needs to be bored. I think while the motor is being built having the 317s milled down to get the CR up and some of the runners and combustion areas cleaned up.

whats the condition of the block you have most that I have seen could get away with a simple hone job and some some fresh rings so i think those pistons and rods should work if your block is in good condition.

The block looks like it is in good shape I think it just spun a main bearing
