finished up the gasket match work, also cleaned up the rough casting on the exhaust ports. I might spend some more time shaping those ports...
I also bored out the upper plenum from 72mm to 74.4mm to match the CFM-Tech throttlebody.
Thanks, I've seeen it done before... somebody had spaced the A/C compressor up a bit to clear the valve covers

It all look GREAT Mykk! One question though, since you drilled out the push rod holes for the rockers, are you gona pull the pressed in rocker studs out and tap them so you can put guide plates on them? Since the holes in the head wont be acting as the push rod guides any more.

The pushrod alignment is done at the valve stem head / rocker arm tip. The rocker has two "guides" one at each end of the roller at the tip... and it cradles the valve stem to prevent left & right movment

See, and even though I'm in my 20's... I started with SBC's and BBC's...and my current 4.3L is a 350 knock off. I've never owned a LSx, so to me those heads look weird. Short valve covers and weird narrow but tall steeple looking intake runners, and a Ford exhaust bolt pattern!

it's going to be weird seeing the newer truck with an old school SBC in there
Did you figure out which cam you had? The part number for the LT4 hotcam is stamped on the cam itself.

Finished up the long block today.
I apologize for the cell phone pics, I had forgot my camera today
I pinned all 16 studs today, than washed, repainted and assembled the heads.
Everthing roatates smooth, no PTC issues or coil bind. The retainers also clear the valve seals... so all is well, so far
Yes I sure did, It is indeed the LT4 Hot Cam.
Cheers ~Mykk

The fuel injectors arrived and droped right in.
finished up the O2 sensor bungs on the headers
I put in some NGK TR6 plugs, and this how I would like to run the wires... I just don't think they're long enough to get to the Dist Cap this way.
