cam and pushrods
I need some help with this cam. I got a complete Z06 valvetrain from a friend for free so i really want to use it because I'm on a tight budget since I'm working on the truck and camaro at the same time. I want to know if this cam fits my 5.3. I have the rockers, springs, retainers, cam and pushrods, will these pushrods work. if it makes a difference the springs are blue. the truck is a 2000 with 120k, i already have 4.11, posi, shift kit and servos, 2000 stall converter, no cats, flex alite fans, k&n intake, tb spacer, msd cables, tb bypass. thanks for the help.

The cam will fit. You can check the pushrod length when you install everything to make sure it is correct. I think most will use 7.4". I would install new valve seals when you swap the parts.

You need to find out if it's an LS6 cam and not an LS2. In 2004, both LS2 and LS6 were available. The LS2 cam will not work in a GenIII engine due to lack of cam sensor pickup on the camshaft.
The LS2 cam was the same as the '01 LS6. They changed the LS6 cam in '02.
The base circle of the LS1 cam is 19.7mm. The base circle of the ' 02 LS6 cam is 19.0 mm. So, 0.7 mm difference is 0.027", and the ideal pushrod length is 7.427. They don't make them in that length though, so the standard 7.40 would be ok. It is always better to have a tad bit shorter pushrod than having a tad too long of a pushrod because having a longer pushrod will not allow the valve to close as fast...
If it is the LS6 stuff, then the whole valvetrain will work!
