Cam questions for towing with 5.3 Z71 Tahoe. I SEARCHED! :D

thanks guys! lots of good help in here. i talked to my tuner about it and the 265 is what he's running in his 5.3 1500 4x4, and he likes it a lot when he towed
with prices dropping as fast as they are maybe i should just look to sell the tahoe and get a used denali or escalade with a 6.0 and AWD

The low end torque on the 6.0 isn't as good as you would think. If you are concerned with towing, I think get some 4.10 gears and be done with it. That will get your truck up into a better rpm range for towing on the highway compared to what a cam will give you at a lower rpm.

i thought the Denali towed the boat magnificently
accelerated very easy, drove great, and it didnt even feel like i was towing. acceleration from both a stop and through mountains was great. i'm sure AWD helped out a bit too
