Talking cam swap lobe seperation

im looking at an slp kit but, i was wondering if anyone who has done a swap or research on it could tell me what lobe seperation is too high for daily driving? the kit im looking at has 112 deg. of lobe seperation and i was wondering if that is going to cause vaccum issues and so on. any help would be appreciated.

You have it backerds. I tight LSA (104, 106) can affect vacuum at low RPM. You should be fine with a 112 LSA.

Nah, Youlll be fine with a good tune. I run a 110*+0* with a good tune and daily driving is damn near stock aside from all of the shaking.

My cam is 224*/230* @ .050 ground on a 114*.

I see 15 inches of vaccum at idle. Brakes feel fine.
I know its not 112 but for comparison with others...

You won't see much of an issue until 106* on these 3rd gen motors. It's all tuning up til then.

Having said that, most street NA cams are in the 110-114* range that I've seen (with 112 being the most common). Absolutely not an issue if you get a good tune.

Like Blown06, my old cam (236/230 on a 114*) gave me 15-16 in./Hg every day of the week. My current cam (230/236 on a 115*) is a little better (16-18in). My brake feel like slush, but they did with the stock cam too Gotta love non-hydroboost trucks.
