cam swap...running rich?
ok, so i finished my cam swap at about 0430 this morning. the truck started on the first try, had oil pressure instantly, and didnt die. with hpt just reading off the maf it was running just slightly rich. however, it seemed to be spitting out alot more exhaust gasses than normal and it smelled really rich. our eyes were burning just sitting outside behind the truck for a few minutes. is this something to be worried about? or do u think the tune is just slightly off and can be adjusted with the wideband?

Bigger cams will idle in a higher MAP area of the VE table because the cams don't produce as much vacuum as stock. So, they idle richer. Typically a larger cam wants less VE and more timing in the idle areas.

i gained 4 tenths and 3mph with the tune still slightly off. it lopes good with the cutout open and sounds great. feels like it pulls harder in the mid to top end. i am happy with it. i say go for it
