With the turbo. I am thinking of upgrading my valve train abit. I am thinking of patriot gold valve springs, 850 comp lifters, and maybe a set of roller rockers (shaft mount). I'll have my tuner design me a cam for my little 5.3. But I really love the sound of that cam on the ss camero, it looked like it really moves too.

If you are running the STS, i dont think you are going to need something that big. Why not try a reverse spilt cam? Just a ?

Lope with a turbo cam is not recommended on a street driven vehicle mainly due to them causing more lag since longer durations and more overlap are less efficient at lower rpms. On a race application, larger duration turbo cams are common of course. Most will run solid roller cams with extremely high spring pressures and have lobes with really fast closing rates to maximize duration near max lift, but limit overlap.

someone either on here or on tech posted a formula to determine your overlap given your I/E durations and LSA, does anyone knwo it off hand? it was something like I+E/2 - LSA but i know thats not right, just along those lines
