Yep, but this brings up another point...there have been a few pics of cams both here and on tech with lobes that look like this, and they've all been with Patriot Gold duals...maybe something's up with those springs, not sure what it is. I'd say maybe too much seat pressure, but you'd think that a lifter would give first? Or it's just a coincidence that the three or so pics of cams that I've seen have all had Patriot Golds, they are a popular spring on higher lift applications...

Ive been asking for a while about all these people running dual golds, as to what their cams look like and I must say like Ive been speculating it seems the springs are the common denominator. If you remember my post a while back in another section, I voiced this same concerned some months back

Billy, the picture that black04 posted looks exactly like the cam that I pulled out of my buddy's SSS and it was running patriot duals, closet red neck on here ran a 226/230 110 comp grind with patriot extreme duals and his had pitting starting on the ramp of the lobe, it only had 2K miles on it otherwise Im sure it owuldve looked much the same.

When I talked to a local speed shop(old school guys who know thier ****) they(all 3 guys) immediately said too much spring pressure. One setup was on stock lifters, one on the CTS-V racing lifters, and one was on LS7 lifters so that rules out lifter design IMO. Im running gold duals right now myself but Im probably going to swap to some PAC springs. Havent quite figured out what I want to do yet since Im not a fan of single springs since I dont really want to grenade my motor if a spring breaks.
