Smile It can be done!!! Quiet Forged 383 picture link added

After building an LS1, Purchasing A Lingenfelter Engine (big mistake), I have done months of reasearch and had a local engine builder machine and build me a 383 (Gregs Custom Engines Riverview, MI) I now have a non-diesel forged internal motor. I finished the install yesterday. Runs great and is quiet. I can't figure out how to attatch pictures. The forum says they are too large. I will try again later

hey, where are you located?! I live in Taylor, MI. If you don't mind, pm me how much you paid for the build if you don't mind.

Glad you got a quiet 382.

I haven't dealt with LPE in 3 years... but they were above and beyond a class act last I checked. So, I'm curious why you feal LPE was a "big mistake".

Please share the facts.

I've been around quiet gen III's that were forged, but the quiet part usually goes away after 40k or so. Your truck should run pretty damn strong with that setup though.

Lingenfelter cahrged me 5600.00 for their 383 and the motor was loud from day one piston to wall clearance excessive, after 7k miles block and pistons are now scrap. they will not stand behind the product either. I am trying to et them to cover the block work I needed done to my spare block to get my truck back on the road. I will NEVER do business with them again or recommend them to any one!!
