change lifters?

Default change lifters?

i have noticed a lot of the f-body guys switch to ls7 lifters and ls2 lifter trays when doing a head/cam swap, what is the advantage of doing this? how would switching from stock lifters to ls7 lifters affect pushrod length? thanks

Good queston, I would like to know too since my heads are off and ls7 lifters are only $120.

i think they were saying lifter trays are like $32 so if its worth $150 i'll do it with my heads/cam swap

Direct swap, same size/length... Just allows higher RPM without worrying about lifters collapsing or becoming unstable... The CTS-V lifters are also a nice upgrade.

the ls7 lifter has replaced all other lifters for the gen3+. So if you go to the dealership and order lifters for your truck, they will give you the same lifters as the ls7. If you don't plan on spinning it to 7k, I would just reuse the stockers.

so on a 2008 5.3 DOD engine if i wanted to replace the DOD collapesable lifters i would just need to go buy half of a set of stock lifter and that would be all i needed since the non collapsable lifters are the ls7 lifters. Are the ls7 lifters the same as the cts- v lifters

would you reuse the stock lifters on an engine with 153K on it? i'd like to turn 6500 or 6600 but i dont know what yellow ls6 springs can handle or if i want to take that high mileage short block up that high

with that amount of miles and what youre planning I'd throw some new stockers in there and keep rolling...

with 153k miles i'd definitely change the lifters
