My current 228 230 cam is a great daily driver. I have no idea how the new one will do. From talking to the cam expert that spec'd it he thinks it will still have good street manners. Also I know the tune will be right on.

What converter are you running? 228 to 238 is a healthy jump.

1. You need more conerter
2. I hope your 4l80e has been regeared in the TRANNY
3. I hope you have 4.10's
4. A mail order tune with that much money invested will only net you **** poor results. That big of a cam is dang near a solid roller if im not mistaking.

BUT Patrick G knows what he is talking about and im sure he went off how you filled out his questionare before he specs anything.

Oh and the 250 shot, on that just disreqard needing any more low end cause that will take care of it!

I sure hope Patrick G. lives up to the hype. I read alot of great stuff about him and that is why I bought the cam even though the specs seemed huge to me. On my application I put 80% street driving and 20% track, also mentioned my current converter size. I wrote back to him stating I thought it was kinda big and he replied the following...

Manuel,

This cam will still give you acceptable street manners. Think of it this way...

A 402 needs 10 degrees more duration/overlap than a 346 LS1 and 13 degrees/overlap than a 5.3L so this cam will be like a 225/237 cam in a 5.3L truck.

Patrick
