i just find it odd that such a big company like et would do this . i know in the past there has been long waits for their products.

i pray i dont have these problems once i start doing the shakedown's .

The heads were supplied by the builder.

Only the intake spring seats are shimmed(both heads) - you can see a couple in one pic.

You can also see that the shaft mounting bars are spaced with a couple of washers.

I've never installed shaft mount but, i would want them to sit flat on the mounting bosses.Using a shim at least i hope thats what they used and not washers would compromise the rigidity of the system.I dont know if it makes defference or not jus speculating here.
So all shims used appear to be the same between the two heads.Speaking in terms of thickness and perspective placement.

Shimming the pedestals isnt uncommon, has to be done for proper sweep pattern.

Well *** me runnin if that isnt a problem stress fractures at the boss.So one heads worse then the other i take it?

Left side had several destroyed seals. Right side only one destroyed and one loose, but most of them looked like they were no longer fully seated. I don't think I moved them when I pulled the springs because they seemed to be on there pretty good when I did remove them.

Don't know what's right or wrong here, but I do want to ensure that nothing is missed when this engine is redone.
