I hear ya and hope the next one gets you alot further.Try to get more involved in the build and make sure parts,spec are consistant with similar builds.Between here,tech,and other boards people should be able answer ?'s you may have.

thats a vhp trucker cam with .551 lift with 1.8 rockers. what is the cam lift itself on the cam card. if what you said is correct it should be .306 lobe lift. if its in deed more than that your lift is more than you think. cam lift times rocker size equals valve lift. man im kinda stuck on the pckets for the springs arent deep enough or the valve stems need to be .100 longer maybe more. i know typical world products heads im familiar with in racing use .100 longer valve from the git go.

ive tried lookin up the cam card and didnt have any luck.i only keep finding a lobe lift of .551 but they arent saying with what rocker arm length. nor did i find anything about the lobe lift either. GOT ME CURIOUS NOW

Will have to do some reassembly and make some measurements.


Any way to identify inconel valves?

The cam card says 228/236 .595 .600, thats not the trucker cam.

Don't think I mentioned the lift anywhere here - only posted the build sheet. Just saying that I didn't get the actual "cam card".

I appreciate all the input, discussion, food for thought!

Will get more measurements tomorrow.
